Resonance silencer
Dämpfung im tieffrequenten Bereich
Resonance silencers are particularly well-suited for damping in the low-frequency range. This type of silencer reduces noise nuisance in a manner similar to a reflection silencer by trapping the sound in chambers. Through a perforated sheet surface, sound waves are directed into hollow chambers where they are reduced by phase cancellation.
Depending on the requirements for the silencer, multiple chambers of different lengths can be used in series. This allows for highly customized damping properties tuned to different frequency ranges.
Since the chambers are located outside the exhaust pipe, this design offers less resistance and is therefore the preferred solution for applications with low exhaust overpressure.
