Chimney Raising
Extension for the chimney
If the chimney draft, meaning the effective height after switching to a modern heating system, is too low, or if the height of the masonry chimney is no longer sufficient due to structural changes to the house (such as an increase in the roof pitch), then installing a chimney extension made of high-quality stainless steel is a cost-effective alternative to rebuilding the existing chimney. A chimney extension is also necessary if a second chimney is located nearby, and there is a risk that the combustion air exhaust gases may be drawn in.
Chimney extensions are available in single-wall and double-wall designs and are simply placed on top of the existing chimney. The attachment is done using a special mounting plate.
