Absorption silencer

Broadband attenuation in the high and mid-frequency range

Broadband attenuation in the high and mid-frequency range
Silencers working on the absorption principle achieve sound reduction primarily in the middle and high-frequency range through the use of open-pored, sound-absorbing materials, such as mineral wool. The sound waves from the exhaust flow pass through a perforated sheet inside, reaching the mineral wool behind it, where they are absorbed, and the sound energy is converted into heat due to friction effects.

All Jeremias absorption silencers are filled with non-combustible mineral wool. To protect it from fiber release due to the exhaust flow, a protective fleece is often incorporated between the perforated sheet and the mineral wool. Depending on the composition of the exhaust gases and operating conditions, different materials are used to protect the mineral wool:

AEDEngines / CHPHigh-temperature fabric / stainless steel wool fleeceProtection against fiber release, suitable for high temperatures

Special forms of absorption silencers

Modular Silencer

The ASD-B-ECO is the modular silencer in our range, as it can be expanded with the absorption elements ASE-ECO for higher attenuation requirements.

This silencer is designed for connection to the exhaust systems EW-AL-BI and EW-FU. It is supplied as standard with seals, which can be removed for operation under negative pressure.

Length Element - Silencer

The ASS is a silencer specifically designed for double-walled chimneys, which integrates perfectly and almost inconspicuously into the overall appearance of an external chimney. As a standard, we offer two different length elements that can be used consecutively, depending on the required sound reduction. The connection of the ASS is possible to all double-walled systems through special transition elements.

Mouth silencers / Sound insulation cores

The base plate of the ASM mouth silencer can be added to and mounted on a masonry chimney at any time. When mounted at the top, the ASM dampens high and medium frequencies before they exit into the open air. The position of the silencer allows for installation without major modifications to the existing exhaust system.

Sound insulation cores of the SDK type are also designed for retrofitting into the chimney and contribute to the effective reduction of noise peaks. They are suspended from the top into the chimney's mouth. The installation is straightforward and can be done at any time after the chimney is built.

Due to the increase in flow resistance, a new cross-sectional calculation of the chimney is required when sound insulation cores are retrofitted.

Space-saving silencers

In cases where the space does not allow for the installation of a conventional absorption silencer, our space-savers ASD-T and ASD-W provide alternative solutions.

With the ASD-T silencer, the absorption body is installed vertically to the exhaust pipe, making the silencer significantly shorter in length than usual.

The ASD-W, with its 90° angle shape, also contributes to considerable space savings.

Silencer with internal sound insulation core

The ASD-SDK is a 2-in-1 absorption silencer with an integrated sound insulation core, which allows for higher damping performance with the same space requirements. Although the sound insulation core placed in the center of the "main silencer" has a cylindrical shape and is optimized for flow dynamics, the higher flow resistance on the exhaust side must be taken into account.
