New Flue Gas System for Decorative Gas Fireplaces

Decorative gas fireplaces are currently a popular trend. This is for good reason: gas fireplaces can be easily controlled by a timer and are used to regulate room temperature. As a decorative element, they create a pleasant, smoke-free atmosphere and can be varied with different flame settings. However, an important factor is a system-certified flue gas system according to DIN EN 1856-1.

Jeremias Flue Systems has now developed a room-air-independent concentric flue gas system for decorative gas fireplaces: TWIN-GAS. The annular space between the inner and outer pipes is used for air intake, creating a natural air circulation due to the negative pressure in the gas appliance. The system is moisture-resistant and absolutely pressure-tight due to the silicone lip seal. This prevents any exchange between combustion and room air. As a result, TWIN-GAS passes the Blower-Door test, which detects air leaks in buildings. The flue system can be installed in an existing chimney, on the exterior wall, with a horizontal wall terminal, or with ceiling and roof penetrations.
