DW-POWER 2.0: New Product at ISH

At this year's ISH, Jeremias introduced the DW-POWER 2.0 for the first time!
 

The DW-POWER 2.0 is a double-walled, pressure-tight flue system designed for engines and backup power systems. The unique feature of the DW-POWER 2.0 is that it allows for the thermal expansion of the inner pipe without the need for costly compensators, making installation particularly easy. For maritime applications, such as in shipbuilding, specially adapted components and material variants are available.

Backup power generators, uninterruptible power supplies, and gas and diesel engines place high demands on their flue systems. Since operating temperatures can reach up to 600 degrees Celsius, the exhaust pipes must be highly resistant to both temperature and pressure. Typically, welded pipes and compensators made from heavy steel are used, which must then be insulated. However, the high-performance flue system DW-POWER 2.0 from Jeremias offers a much simpler installation and is significantly more cost-effective. It is a double-walled, pressure-tight stainless-steel chimney for dry operation. The system features a socket-and-spigot connection in the flue gas-carrying inner pipe, with a cylindrical inserted socket end for the outer pipe and two integrated special sealing rings, ensuring a pressure-tight system up to 5000 Pa.

The inner pipes made from stainless steel 1.4404 are produced with TIG or laser-welded longitudinal seams, ensuring maximum corrosion resistance. The outer pipes, also made of stainless steel 1.4301, are standardly manufactured with a glossy finish. Compared to other similar flue systems, the DW-POWER 2.0 stands out because it does not require expensive compensators, eliminating the need for their complex installation. This is made possible by a special connection that allows the inner pipe to expand thermally without stress.

DW-POWER, like all Jeremias flue systems, is CE-certified. The system is also in the process of receiving approval from the DNV GL Group, which will soon confirm its suitability for maritime use. For this specific application, DW-POWER 2.0 is available in a special version with a reduced and customized selection of components, as well as an optional saltwater-resistant V4A outer wall material for installation above deck.
